Our content ranged from polls to history to government affairs, but it was geography that captured the most clicks. Ranked by readership with links in the headlines, these are our top five non-satirical stories from 2025:
1. Wall of Silence Surrounds MoCo Press Rules
As a result of our own experience being prohibited from Montgomery County press conferences, we discovered County Council media access policies were secretly created and approved in 2023. Our investigation exposed serious deficiencies in government rule making, transparency and press freedom. Our top non-satirical story of 2025 is ongoing—we appealed to the Public Access Ombudsman last year and expect meaningful disclosures from the county this month.
