Steve Solomon Wins Industry Award for Record-Setting Mouth Clicks in Single Broadcast
Former radio host and current podcaster Steve Solomon has been awarded the Golden Palate Award after audio analysts from Guinness World Records confirmed he produced the highest number of mouth clicks ever recorded during a single 60-minute broadcast.
Mouth clicks are caused by saliva buildup that causes the tongue to briefly adhere to the hard palate, creating a small suction release sound when the tongue moves. According to the review panel, Solomon's December 17, 2025 podcast averaged one audible mouth click every thirteen seconds, for a total of 277 clicks.
Topics discussed during the record-setting podcast included those little rubber nibs on new car tires, the LA Laker's new weight room's door hinges, self-drilling drywall anchors, how to spell "Ledecky”, and dandelion stalks.
Solomon accepted the award and remarked, "This [tskk] award [tskk] is the crowning achievement [tskk] of my distinguished career as the DMV's [tskk] most beloved broadcaster [tskk] since Ken [tskk] Beatrice [tskk].
