MoCo Duckpin Final Four Set for Saturday

MoCo Duckpin Final Four Set for Saturday

The Montgomery County Duckpin League Final Four will be held Friday night at Tuffy Leemans’ Glenmont Lanes, the league’s annual close to a season that began in the fall and narrowed steadily to four houses.

The field is set: Tuffy Leemans’ Glenmont Lanes, Wheaton Triangle Lanes, Fair Lanes Twinbrook and White Oak Duckpin Lanes.

Glenmont enters as host and, as usual, the favored contender. The house style emphasizes control and spare conversion. Over the course of the season, Glenmont teams have relied less on high-count strings and more on minimizing open frames.

Wheaton Triangle Lanes brings balance. This season, Wheaton’s lineup has combined aggressive first balls with consistent second and third-shot closes, a mix that has carried it through tight matches.

Fair Lanes Twinbrook arrives with the league’s most consistent statistical profile. The lanes have long rewarded precision, and Twinbrook teams rarely give away frames.

White Oak Duckpin Lanes completes the bracket. Known for pace and confidence, White Oak teams finished the regular season with some of the strongest closing strings in the league. Local sports broadcaster Steve Solomon says they can’t lose.

The format remains unchanged: three strings, cumulative total, with manual scorekeeping for the championship round. By the end of the night, one house will take the title. The others will turn their attention to next season.
